Due to the recent posting of the YouTube video “The Tragedy of Mary Kay Bergman,” Mr. Andrade is requesting privacy for himself and his family on the subject of this deep personal tragedy and is not taking any questions, queries, statements, or creative content proposals at this time given the sensitive nature of this topic and the deep grief it causes.
As for the documentary’s reference to “The Mary Kay Bergman Project” in support of mental health for individuals in the entertainment industry: The makers of the documentary unfortunately did not know that Mr. Andrade and (at the time) the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center came to the mutual decision that the project was not necessary.
This decision was made due to the already existing ample resources of the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center on top of the heavy grief and strain of Mr. Andrade continuously having to re-visit such a traumatic event at the time. However, if people still wish to help we encourage them to reach out to their local, or international, foundations and nonprofits.
As a firm supporter of suicide prevention, Mr. Andrade appreciates, understands, and respects the importance of the message in and surrounding the documentary. As always, Mr. Andrade is thankful for the love and reverence surrounding his late wife’s legacy.
Thank you for your patience and understanding for Mr. Andrade and his family’s privacy, grief, mental health, and well-being.
